Ketamine for Anxiety Disorders
Fast-acting help for anxiety, panic attacks and OCD
If chronic anxiety has not improved with standard medications or talk therapy, ketamine therapy may give you a fresh option. Columbia Ketamine Center treats a range of anxiety conditions with IV ketamine protocols built around each patient.
Ketamine helps balance the brain’s glutamate system, which shapes how you respond to stress and work through emotions. It can calm overactive circuits that drive fear, constant worry and panic. That makes ketamine a strong option to consider for people with:
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
- Panic Disorder
- Social Anxiety Disorder
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

Your Infusion Plan
After your first consultation, we put together a series of ketamine infusions, usually given over about two weeks. Every session runs 45 to 60 minutes in a quiet, private room, and you are monitored the entire time.
During an infusion you might feel calm or a bit detached. You may then notice your anxiety symptoms improving over the next several hours and days.
Changes Patients Describe
- Fewer intrusive or racing thoughts
- Less frequent panic attacks
- Improved sleep and less physical tension
- A greater sense of calm and emotional control
Many patients say they feel like themselves again, with more confidence, a stronger sense of connection and more control over their day.
Ongoing Care
Your care continues after the infusion series ends. We keep track of how you are doing and work with you on a maintenance plan that supports further progress. Ketamine therapy can also be paired with talk therapy and other wellness approaches.
